Hey guys...which location is better to live and work in the Lake Havasu, AZ area or Destin/Florida Panhandle?

Biggest pro for AZ??? No alligators, here! Also, no hurricanes...Still lots of old folks and lots of rattlesnakes (some being a combination of both...). Of course, it's easier to squish a rattler or scorpion (if you have to, because it's coming after you), than it is to squish an alligator....I say this from experience...

I prefer Arizona. Better market for nurses too.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Arizona!! It is a very laid-back atmosphere and a great place to work and live. I am constantly trying to move back there (and no I am not originally from there but I just love it). Az is convienently located and you can drive to California or Vegas in no time.

Due to the reported tough job market for fl nurses, your choice might be easier than you think.

I live in FL. I'd go to Arizona if I was you. The cost of living and the pay here isn't compatible. Almost every nurse here has a 2nd job b/c they have to....but at least we have a beach...but the beach doesn't pay bills.

Which are better, boys or girls? Do tall women or short women make better wives? Which tastes better, marinara or pesto sauce?

Seriously, how can you even pose such a question? The criteria we each set for our lives is so incredibly varied, unless you provide us with some specifics (which has a higher unemployment rate, cost of living, etc), how can anyone but yourself possibly answer that question?

Just spoke to a friend in Florida recently. She said the job market for nurses there is not good right now. She basically said that nursing schools are abundant there and there are too many nurses without enough jobs:(

Oh wow Bluegrass RN....Seriously...it is a simple question...ya need to lighten up...really?!? ANYWAYS.....I got a job in both areas..just wanted some advice :)

But what do you want? Do you have kids, and are wondering about the schools? Do you like the outdoors, and are wondering about outdoor activities? Are you interested in working for a union shop? Are you allergic to mold? Do you have a spouse who will be looking for a job? Do you plan on going back to school in a couple of years and are wondering about tuition reimbursement?

Sorry you think it's b****y to point out that you asked an incredibly vague question. I guess I thought responses would be more meaningful if you supplied us with some details. Sorry to want to help.

Choose Arizona. It begins with an A.

Seriously BluegrassRN..if I was not specific enough...I have NEVER been to Arizona so I wouldnt know what to expect..I do not have any kids and just was wondering about the living situation out there...what to do, climate etc....hence the question. I dont have time for negativity and dont need it either. The question is not a big deal...really...just trying to get info on either places...if it is a HUGE waste of your energy, then please dont respond.

Wow!! You got two jobs! That's good for you!:yeah:

I've also heard that Arizona's market for nurses is better than Florida. Florida is almost like Cali: plenty of nurses and few jobs

Good luck with your decision!
