What makes a good nurse?

  1. I am a retired FF/paramedic planning on pursuing an RN degree thru the Regents University of New York program. What does the nursing community think of the "Degree" granted to students of this program. Are any of you grads from this program or know someone who is? Does a Regents degree hinder an RN in his/her career?

I have a close friend who was an LPN who got the Regents RN. She is a good nurse and I don't feel that the type of education has hampered her at all.

Our nurse manager (IMCU/ICU) is also a Regent's graduate. She is one of the best nurses I know! I think the education is what you make of it, whether traditional or non-traditionally based. I wish you the best of luck!!
