Hi Lina,
I love your spirit.
What I love about nursing is the mobility, meaning, the many different areas that you can use your nursing knowledge.
You can work at the bedside, you can work in research, you can work in education, you can work for Corporate America, you can work for insurance, you can work in management...all things that ultimately lead to better outcomes for patients.
Nursing knowledge is very versatile. That's what I love most.
hey!!!! come on ppl!! *hehe* 28 views and only one person can tell me what she jus LUVS about nursing?!?! --i luv u susyK!!- ok...ya dont really have to...i'm jus saying...perhaps sharing ur LUVs of nursing could touch us young ones more and perhaps too expand the #of nurses today!!

Its probably something between my deep seated hate of happy people and my desire to inflict pain on people in a socialy acceptable manner....
Er... no, wait....
You know? I really dont know why, but the more you do it the harder you try the more you want to be a nusre the more you love it....
I suppose it validates our belief that we are in our hearts nice people and god, ick, dare I say it? "I wanna help people"

That's easy! It's the patients!!!!---You have the opportunity to see people at their best, their worst, and despite all the crap you might have to put up with from "out of touch" administrators, lazy co-workers, etc.....at the end of the day, if you have made one person's load a little bit lighter--its sooooo worth it! Any time a patient looks up and says "thank-you"--nothing in the world can compare.

Good question.
I am a nursing student. I love nurses too. They are confident, knowledgeable (sp), caring, just wonderful. I can't wait to be able to say that I am a nurse. I am going into nursing because of all that you can do with a nursing degree, it's just fabulous.

I'm very new to haematology nursing, but I've never felt more appreciated for what I can do for my patients. When a patient goes into remission and comes back to the ward, well and happy, to thank us......when someone feels like death and you know they hate needles but they take the sticks and pain meds anyway without a whinge and then thank you for it.....when someone loses their fight and dies surrounded by friends and family and nurses who care about them.....when a deceased patient's wife/mother/son comes in to thank you for the wonderful care you gave their loved one when even breathing hurt. That's what I love about nursing. Knowing I can make a difference in someone's life.

I love the way I feel after I help another with a terrible situation in thier life. If its just a holding of the hand, or a hug, or using my knowledge to assist them to another level in thier life. Its a feeling deep in the heart. It can bring more light into your soul than anything else can. If Im not nursing I phyically hurt. I have to do it. Its a calling for me. I dont see myself being any other place but helping another.
