I was a CNA until my back gave out, stifling any thoughts of patient care. I work on a Peds unit and absolutely love what I do... and am very proud to be one of the best at my hospital. It kinda bugs me when people say... "gee.. you're smart enough to be a nurse..." especially since most units at the hospital would rather go down a nurse than be without a Health Unit Coordinator.

What is the point of this question? Both categories are nurses according to the State Board of Nursing.

My mom was a health care coordinator in an E.R. for over 20 years. And she is extemely 'smart' in the nursing field.....but was very happy doing what she was doing. She is still on the ball with health care issues for family and friends.....don't worry about what people say. If you are happy with whatyou do , you are 100 paces in front of the rest of people dragging their butts to jobs they hate.:icon_razz:

I'll watch my mouth though, a lot of our HUCs are so smart they shoud be in n. school, but I can see how that could be worded wrong! It kinda bugs me when people say... "gee.. you're smart enough to be a nurse..." especially since most units at the hospital would rather go down a nurse than be without a Health Unit Coordinator.
