Waiting on phone interview...?

I am a recent graduate (Dec 2014). I moved from MS to CA in March and received my CA license at the end of March. I applied like crazy anywhere I could find. I am in a weird situation because my husband travels a lot for work, so I can't apply for 12 hour hospital positions unless its PRN. Anyways, I got a job working at SNF full time. I knew when I got hired it was not going to be my forever job. But it got my foot in the door and I am appreciative of that. I saw a positing for my DREAM job a few weeks ago and decided to apply. It was for an oncology clinic, the ad even said "Will Train" etc. Oncology is what I am interested in, I did my preceptorship on an oncology unit and fell in love. I got a call back and ended up getting an interview with one of the oncologists and his nurse who is retiring. The interview went great. I know its between me and one other candidate. They asked a few simple questions, showed me around and then said that I would need to do a phone interview with the Director of Medicine for the entire practice. I wasn't given a time frame on when or anything other than it would probably be in the evening sometime because she is a busy woman. Well, my interview was almost a week ago and I haven't gotten that phone call yet. I am wondering, how long is normal to wait for a phone interview before assuming that I just didn't get the position? I hate this limbo.

Call your recruiter or the first person you interviewed with and check in. In my experience, if an interviewer tells me to expect a call, it happens within 48 hours. This person may need a nudge, or they may have gone with the other candidate. Either way, you will feel better if you call and find out.

Just wanted to let you know I'll be giving you a call tomorrow to discuss details about training with ****** at the office and what your current schedule may allow.

That is the doctor I was waiting to hear from! Would you consider this a job offer?! I am so excited for this phone call tonight.

Posting what was meant to be a private email on a public site, complete with names and geographical identifiers, without permission, is an EXTRAORDINARILY BAD IDEA. I suggest you delete that if you want to keep the job offer.

I wholeheartedly agree with this advice. Either take down the entire email or at least change the names.

But I have to say that that email sounds very promising. Looks like good news to me. Hopefully congrats are in order!
