i noticed a goo gob of nursing jobs on there. has anyone ever tried it, and if so does it take forever for them to contact you? also 'indeed.com' seems to have a ton of entry level positions as well. can some others mention good job websites that we can look into for jobs.

I am not sure I understand why you would be concerned about nursing jobs as you are not a nurse or nursing student. The site is after all called "allnurses.com"

i was actually looking on usagov for another type of position and happened to see alot of nursing jobs i thought might be helpful to someone looking. i just noticed in passing. i would want someone to inform me. if someone applied for a carpenters job and saw an ad in passing for say like a boiler job and i was an out of work boilermaker, i would want them to extend the courtesy is all i was saying. it's not that i'm worrying about nursing jobs, i was just being helpful.

well thanks all the same johnny i'm sure someone would benefit from those links

I don't mean to be rude, but I do mean to be direct. You need to get a life! Maybe if you spent less time on this site putting out questions and yes, giving some advice, and more time looking for a job, you would be able to get out on your own like you say you would like to do.

I know this site is open to anyone who joins, but ...get real.

yeah, maybe so, but i do love to chat with folks. i learn that way.

I am officially creeped out....

It can take forever to et a federal job. My husband works for the VA and the hiring process is so ridiculous and riddled with red tape. Once you are in, it is great, but don't expect to start working quickly.

Wow, so usajobs.gov and medhunters.com advertise babysitting jobs? Who knew.

it was good for me..thanks for the sites..i just applied for 2 nursing jobs,,

I've seen those sites as well, there seems to be a lot of opportunity there and I'll keep them in mind when I'm ready.

OTOH Johnny, if you're serious about a career in Nursing you may want to reconsider your “about me” page, that kind of humor may play well on some forums but some day an admissions person to a school or HR person at a health care facility will look at that and not see the humor, but rather a picture of an applicant they probably won't want to hire.

I can't believe my eyes! I certainly don't know what's in your heart, but this message does come across as rude. Telling someone else what they need to do isn't the most courteous way to approach a public post. One might argue that you're trying to help this person, but I think a reasonable person wouldn't detect any genuine concern for the original poster in this message. I realize that this person has posted on other subjects. However, with as many posts as I see about difficulty finding jobs, I for one appreciate anyone who points me in the direction of a possible source.

People come from different backgrounds, and from the other end of a wire, we can never really be sure what they're feeling or why they do a thing. If they're not hurting anyone, I would like to float the idea that they efforts shouldn't be made to hurt them.

And the implication that a person should not be on this site because that person is not a nurse ... well it's kind of counterproductive in a profession that cries out for the public to understand what we're about (professionalism, knowledge, skill, critical thinking, etc.)

I hope this post hasn't hurt you. I'm not trying to embarrass you or hurt you. I am trying to make the case that compassion is an all-the-time thing, not a when-I-feel-like-it thing.

Regards,

Mukfay
