UC Health New Grad Residency Program Denver

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi everyone! I am graduating from nursing school in May with my BSN and moving from Indiana to Denver this summer. I am very interested in University of Colorado Hospital's new grad residency program. I have read some threads from a few years ago, but I was hoping I can get some more recent information. I have a 3.95 GPA and have quite a bit of leadership experience. I have not worked as a tech unfortunately, so I am worried that my lack of experience will hinder me. I am interested in critical care, particularly cardiac. Can anyone help me answer some of these questions?

How competitive is it? How many apply vs are offered positions?

What is the typical base pay?

If accepted, am I likely to get my #1 or #2 options for units?

Are benefits included?

What kind of hours are expected? Weekends, nights, etc. (Asking because I have some weddings coming up this summer and didn't know if I would be able to work around that.)

Thank you!!! All information helps! :)

I suggest applying for it and asking those questions when you speak with someone from HR. Or even try calling the HR department.

I want to do that, but they said on the application that they discourage contacting HR about the program.
