    Travasol is a brand name of amino acids in TPN, Total Parenteral Nutrition. If the patient is receiving TPN, it normally has an elevated amount of glucose in it, usually greater than 10%. That is why you would be monitoring the blood sugar, because of the high glucose, not the amino acids which are the protein part.
