To take this job offer or not!

Nurses General Nursing

Just wanted a little input into my situation. My license is on probation for 3 years (started in May 2018) for not charting diligently and not delivering narcotics per doctors' orders. I know I was wrong and broke policies and am trying to learn and move forward. As many nurses on Probation know - this can be difficult! I have completed all my online courses and done everything the BON has asked of me. I am not concentrating on finding a job. (Fulfillment of probation requires 6 months of employment). I have recently been offered a position in Home Health Hospice (still need BON approval of course) and I am very excited! However, it pays less than half of what I have been earning for the past 15 years! I was quite high up in my job (Staff Nurse III). I would not want to take this job and then leave if something better came along as I am so appreciative of this employer giving me a second chance and welcoming me with open arms! I guess my question is - should I take this so at least I can fulfill my probation requirements or should I keep looking for something better paid. I have to say Home Health Hospice is something I would love to do -but also need to pay my mortgage in this expensive Bay Area!

Take it. Even with your extensive experience, you're not likely to get multiple great offers while on probation.
