Tilt Table Policy

I am looking for a tilt table policy for a healthcare facility and if physicians are required to be present for this procedure. I am working in an EP Lab and updating policies and procedures. This one needs an update and would like to get input from other facilities that do tilt table tests. I would appreciate any information that would help with this. Thank you!

I did Cardiac Testing back when I was working in VA 2004, at that time I was the only RN present and I had an EKG/echo tech running the machine. The Cardiologist had to be in house, but not in the room when we were doing a tilt table test. I think this is still the best test available for those patients having syncope. Unfortunately many facilities have eliminated them. We had a definitive protocol to follow which was approved by the Cardiologist group who was running the testing, so as long as I followed their protocol it was like having their orders. When I had a patient who got into trouble we went into ACLS mode and took care of the patient accordingly.

Thanks a lot. Thats what we have going on now. I appreciate your time.
