Taking the LPN and RN NCLEX at the same time?

Is it possible to take the LPN nclex exam immediately after taking the RN licensure exam? I am still waiting for my RN nclex results that I took last week ago and I think I failed but don't know for sure.

Even if you were eligible to take both, I'd solely focus on whatever ranks higher on the licensure food chain. In your case, this would be the NCLEX-RN.

This is my first time taking the nclex RN, Yeah I know it ranks higher but I just want to know if I would be able to take it anyways, or do I have to wait for the results of the RN exam to be able to take the LPN? I'm planning to do this to double my chances of passing,

Sounds silly. Believe in yourself! Of course you have passed. If you haven't then study hard and get on with it - because the profession needs another Nurse like you! Hurry up!

Have faith...I agree it sounds silly to do what you're suggesting, and in time you'll look back and think "What?!?" :)

Besides, taking the LPN exam doesn't double your chances of passing. The questions on the RN exam are designed to test your ability to delegate, what's appropriate for whom, and what you should do in YOUR scope of practice. You'd have to switch gears for the LPN exam, and unless you've been studying for it...I'd say you wouldn't necessarily do great.

Hang in there. Wait for the results :D

Does your State allow you to test for NCLEX-PN if you graduated from an RN program? I would check with the BON in your state to see what they require.

well i just found out its a bad idea, to be able to take the Nclex-PN here in my State I have to apply first for another elligibility. Thats gonna take some time, I just felt terrible after taking the RN exam because I know I did poorly, computer stopped at number 237 and that can't be good. Took it a week ago Sept. 3, But I know I'll do better next time.

I know someone in our class that went all the way to 265 - DO NOT give up hope until you know for sure!!! The waiting is difficult but BELIEVE. If you did not pass it does not mean that you do not know your stuff. There are so many areas of nursing and maybe your bank of questions were your weak spots. Review, do many more questions and take it again. You can do it!!!

Hey Angelclowne - You know I am sure you will surprise yourself. I did about 237 question too and passed too. Sometimes being too confident after you have sat the NCLEX -well just say I have known several people and they had that cocky attitude and failed.

Have positive affirmations!

One of the GNs where I work failed the RN-NCLEX and she was able to schedule another test and retake it within 2 weeks. Given the price of the NCLEX exams, I don't think you'd really be doing yourself a financial favor by trying to take both.
