Specializes in ER/SICU/House Float.

a year of med surg, a year of surgical step down, 5 years SICU, 4 years CVSU, 8 years PRN house wide (except surgery and labor delivery- 600 bed hospital) with many long term fill-in roles for vacations/maternity. I loved house float but nursing went into overflow again hours started disappearing. (house float MICU, SICU, CVSU, ER, psych, oncology, ortho, renal, gi, rehab and on and on LOL)

I'm currently ER for 3 years. If you are trying to do the math I've got 22 years in. I have no interest in management at this point and still feel young at 44 (big smile)

I love fitness lifting weight and helping people get healthy. I'm seriously considering business of wellness geared toward diabetes/older folks or folks my age that have not taken care of themselves.

I live in Alabama which has a obesity, heart disease and diabetes epidemic. I'm sure to have no problems finding clients. I've been doing this for free with a few people. I"ve loved watching folks with new onset diabetes work their way back to health. Its gratifying to see them loose weight and get of meds. I'm still trying to decide what certifications I would need to make it official.

there's my resume LOL

Lol Thank you so much for your detailed response!! It's amazing that coincidentally all the areas you've been to are areas I am interested in and I'm starting nursing at the same age you did in a Med surg unit. I love your passion for nursing! Continue to be a great nurse!
