The whole ad is meant to be stupid and campy. That's fine with me. Not that you don't have a point about the men looking particularly stupid. I'm only- and let me again specify only- objecting to the portrayal of the "naughty nurse" stereotype. But again- however you feel about it, thanks for chiming in.
So you only object to certain stereotypes?
eWhat do female doctors do when they're thought to be the nurse?? Do they stomp their feet and get all irked? No, they politely say "I'm Dr. So and so."

Not exactly. My wife is as feminine as they come, and made this mistake just the other day. The doctor was not polite.at.all. Nor do I agree that she necessarily should have been.

The nurse is smokin hot. I think some of you are jealous. It should make nurses proud that companies use nurses in advertising.
:yeah:
the point is: we are all fighting stereotypes. Being female: you must be the nurse (not the doctor). Or the guy nurse: must be the doc.
Can't change these stereotypes easily, it has taken time to cement, as it will take time to uncement.
And your wife will get over it. What does your wife being feminine have to do with making this mistake? (I'm assuming she questioned if the female doc was a nurse??) That doc will get over it. It's a part of our culture, at this point.
Which is why everyone should be introducing themselves (since we all dress pretty much the same without any way to differentiate ourselves) as "I'm your nurse, such and such." That way, there's no confusion right out of the gate.

You think so? Yet another who doesn't read through threads. The "sisters of Mzansi" in my last post knock her for six. Oh dear, yet another pun....
Yes, your nurse may be as pretty as a magnolia tree in full bloom, but the tree probably has more acting talent....

Whatever. Anyone who doesn't live under a rock knows that modern American nurses are both men and women of many different ethnicities and backgrounds. Who cares what nurses are generalized as? Oh, and my reading comprehension is just fine, thanks though!Hate to say it but that's part of why some get their panties in such a twist over the naughty nurse bit. Who cares, really? Boycott Hooters if you feel so strongly about it.

If you knew that nurses come in all different forms why would you disagree with my original statement that nurses are generalized in a certain fashion?
I know I am beautiful, talented, smart, funny, etc. But having been in management and the military over the past eight years has shown me what happens when women are portrayed as sexual objects and not intelligent beings.
There is a difference between positive and negative attention, apparently some girls do not understand that.

We have a winner, but change "girls" to people.

Some people are just jealous of sexy nurses cause they are totally "winning"!!
Haha,
I wanted to say girls because, most of the time, women know the difference. I was making a reference to maturity. Thanks for the support!

I like Hooters. I don't go there a LOT, but probably a couple times a year. We recently went there as a family (12yo boy, 10yo girl, 3 yo boy) on a Saturday afternoon. My poor daughter was all in a tizzy - she acted like we were taking her to a strip club. I pointed out the fact that there were four other families with young children dining there at the time.
And this "wins" for pop culture reference of the day. :;
Strong work.
