Reprimand to Endorsement

Hello,

In 2009 I got a reprimand on my RN license. The mistake was a complete out of character departure from my nursing practice and an isolated incident.

Since then I've worked at the same place, but in April I found my hours cut (beyond my control) and looking for part time work. This is when I got a wake up call that the reprimand would inhibit my employability. I'm a good, hard working, conscientious, by the book, likable nurse with great experience and leadership roles. So I have been shell shocked.

I did finally land a job very recently, but have not started yet. I'm hopeful this will be a great fit.

HOWEVER! If it isn't a good fit, I'm planning ahead. . . .

I'd likely move out of state and seek endorsement.

Does my reprimand follow me ? ? ?

Will boards' of Nursing start looking at expunging old reprimands? Is there a movement that way?

Trying to keep my chin up.

If you apply for licensure by endorsement, you will be required to disclose any action against any license you hold in other state(s). It is up to the new state to investigate and determine whether to issue you a license to practice as well as any limitations to that new license.

I wish you well.
