Relocating to TX

Nurses General Nursing

I am from WI and am currently looking into relocating to TX.... surrounding areas near Dallas or Houston.... any good hospitals to apply for? I have heard horror stories from travel nurses that work where I am now about many different places in TX. I know it is a huge state, so if anyone out there knows of any good places, please let me know. My background is med/surge.... I am a floater for my company though, so I float to all units except ICU and ED...

Specializes in Psychiatry.

are you going to be a travel nurse or staff? for dallas, theres Parkland, Baylor and numerous HCA hospitals, houston, theres Methodist, MD Anderson, Memorial Hermann etc... you wouldn't have any problem with the background in med surg.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

As far as hospitals are concerned, there's Parkland, Texas Health Resources, Baylor Scott & White, the Methodist system, Tenet, and so forth. Of course, the HCA hospitals (Medical City Dallas, et al) are always an option.

I plan on being staff... I currently float within my heathcare system here in WI to several hospitals. It's like a resource pool position. I would like to keep the same position if possible....

Thank you. I was just concerned because one of the units I float to now have a lot of travelers and a few of them have complained greatly about a few hospitals in TX. I know TX is huge, so I was just wondering if there were any recommendations on places to work.
