Reciprocity Advice?

I have a question...

My husband is currently job searching in the academic world and our options are potentially Michigan or Maryland or even Mississippi...

I am a current registered nurse in the state of Illinois. I'm having a difficult time finding any information regarding how I would apply for reciprocity in the above mentioned states for my nursing license. Does anyone have any information or advice on how to do this??

Could you look up the BON in each of the states and see what they have posted on their web sites. I find googling something like that usually gives me the answer I am looking for. If not just call them, you probably wouldnt get much of a response from an email...

Each state has their own requirement, so calling would be a

good idea as you may need their reciprocity packet. Not all states

put that online...

Check the state BON and see what requirements are for endorsing your license.

Think to remember here is the BON is listed under the Department of Community Health. I've found though if I Google it, takes me right to the site I need.

There's no such thing as reciprocity of nursing licenses in the US. The process of getting a license in a new state based on already being licensed in another state is called licensure "by endorsement." The BON website for each state you're considering should have all the information and forms necessary to apply for licensure by endorsement.

In Massachusetts, the Statute specifies Reciprocity registration as follows

General Laws: CHAPTER 112, Section 76

There are states called the walk through states that you can go to their state with your current license get a license within 48 hours or less. Do some research online and find out.
