I think this could be a good think or a bad thing. Yes, it could easily, if put into the wrong hands (like producers down at FOX:lol2: ) make nurses look bad. But it could also help people to see how hard nurses really work. This could either recruit more people into the Field of nursing, or maybe even help with the high turn around rates. I know of a lot of students in my classes (yes I am not a nurse yet, but I have worked as a CCMA-C for over three years and know I can handle the "yucky" stuff, mean docs, and even though I do not work 12 hr shifts when I am working full time I usually work 10) do not know what they are getting into...the cadavers gross them out, they will not touch them and they cover their noses and make faces, "the bacteria smells" or they want to work in med surg because "I do not like to touch people but, at least they will be asleep when they are in surgery"

The link is not working for me. I have not heard about a nursing reality show. I think if done properly it could be an awesome help to our profession, done poorly it could make a joke out of us. Anyone else have a link that may work?

It wont be on TV it's actually going to be a webcast program, you'll watch from the internet. I've been keeping tabs on this show since they first started looking for cast members, and even voted for some of them.

Hopefully this will be a good thing, but being a webcast, it may not reach a big audiance.

Who knows, we'll see I guess... that actual link is, http://www.nursetv.com

Thanks for the link. It's interesting. I've never done travel nursing but I would think the floor work would be the same as just about anywhere. As far as these nurses having normal lives, obviously they don't. I would love to travel for 13 weeks at a time but I have a husband, children and 8 dogs. I'm stuck here!

Thanks, I didn't realize it was a webcast. I think you are right it may not reach as many viewers as television casting would. But, on the other hand if it does well it may make it into the mainstream. I agree also with the member that pointed out, that it could be a positive for recruitment purposes. I like anything that is going to portray us in a positive light, it seems like we are made to shine in shadows of the Docs. We have our own voice, mind and role.

I would love to see a program that will allow us to be who we are and what we stand.

Thanks guys lets stay tuned.....
