Quick questions about ear drops for infants

I cant find why ear drops are not recommended for infants under 12 months, any ideas?

I was thinking because of the ear structure as its not 100% formed, but not sure.

I'm not aware that you can't give ear drops to an infant. Is there a specific ear drop to which you're referring? here's one example that specifically discusses usage in an infant. http://www.rxlist.com/pediotic-drug.htm#

Otorhea is the term for drainage from the ear. I'm not sure what it is for bleeding, if it's different.

In general, you can give ear drops to children under 1 year,. Was there a specific medication you are referring too?

Its in my study notes, it doesnt say what types of meds. The question says:
