Probation employment question

  1. Hi,
My RN license is currently on probation and while I was trying to be positive about being approved for a home health hospice job I was offered, Nurse Beth's answer to a question I sent has made me feel like there is no hope of approval from the Board! Therefore, I have decided to apply for jobs as a nursing assistant, housekeeper, medical receptionist etc - anything to be able to support my family. Does anyone know if the Board has to approve these kinds of jobs if they are in a medical facility? It takes forever for the Board to reply to emails! The Board has already told me I would have to resign from my volunteer job driving cancer patients to and from their radiation appointments unless I had written confirmation from the charity's owner that I was not being used as an RN. I also had to show her my Decision & Order which was quite humiliating especially as I am quite respected at this non profit and it is nothing to do with me being a nurse. Anyway, had to be done and I did it - to keep my volunteer job and for my clients who depend on me. So I am assuming I have to get approved for anything I do? Thanks for any insight from anyone with past experiences in this situation

I would assume any medical position will have the same requirements as a job simply driving cancer patients and likely even more due to closer proximity to patient care.

"The board" may not have to approve them, but you're unlikely to pass a background check for anything medically related. And if you do manage to pass it, and you're an RN applying for a housekeeping position, there are going to be lots of questions.
