Possible Job Interview...

Good Morning all!!

Its been aloooong time since I've last posted here...but I need your help!

I know it is traditional to wear a suit to a job interview. I only have ONE suit, that was bougth YEARS ago

And I'm not exactly sure if it still fits. I currently have a job where I can dress casual. I usually alternate between jeans and slacks throughout the week. I do not have much money to spare, so I was wondering can I wear the dress linked below since I already have it. Of course I wouldn't wear it with those tights or shoes, but do you think the dress looks professional enough? If need be I can probably spend no more than $100 on a new outfit, but I'd rather not since bf just lost his job. Please help...I desperately need this job! Thanks!

I would say yes... I had an interview last week. I wore some black slacks and shoes that I had, and bought a new neutral khaki colored button down shirt. I only spent $15. I ironed it crisply and went for the interview. I got the job! Good luck to you.

I think it looks fine. I got my last interview clothing at one of the discount stores, Ross. If you have $100 to spend, suggest you give yourself enough time to go to several stores, Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc. Mix and match. You should be able to come up with slacks, a blouse, and a blazer. Good luck on your interview.

Thanks for the replies!

I wouldn't mind looking for a blouse to mix and match, but my problem is that i have huge breast, so blazers and button down shirts don't look the best on me simply because the shirt would be so large to accomodate for my breast size. I've worn the dress and it fits perfectly, it's not tight or clingy, and all I would really need to get is some hose and some shoes to match.

Any other ideas or suggestions??

I think its okay! good luck

If you get a blazer, wear it open. (I have worn them this way when I have gained lots of weight and haven't been able to buy a larger size). You will want something else if you go on several interviews and especially if you go to more than one interview at the same place. You don't want to wear the same outfit to the same place twice in a row.

I think the dress you pictured is fine. Honestly I don't know that it's necessary to wear a business suit to a nursing interview. If you insist, you can always find them for around $30 @ Ross or TJ Maxx. I used to think it was necessary to wear one, however I wore one to one interview and to a separate interview I wore a nice sweater and black dress slacks. I did not get the job when I wore the suit. Probably just coincidence but it's acceptable to wear just a nice sweater/blouse and slacks. Personally, I feel the same about button down blouses, they do not flatter my figure either. You want something you will feel comfortable in, yet professional. Groom neatly, no flashy jewelry or perfume, neutral makeup and wear a smile with confidence!

Good luck!
