I am absolutely astounded that no one can seem to help with this situation, so I thought why not let you guys have a go-around. My four year old son has Goldenhar syndrome and consequently he has microtia/atresia(he is missing his ear and has no ear opening). He is also hearing impaired and requires a hearing aid in his only ear. Now the dilemma is this, he is also vision impaired and no one makes glasses for a child with only one ear. Have any of you seen patients or knoiw of someone that has an apparatus for this? Right now we have tons of straps and stuff holding the glasses onto his head. There has to be a better way, this is something we made at home. Even the optometrists had no idea what is the best way to fit his glasses. Thanks for your problem solving skills in advance...

Have you looked at Swissflex or Lafont? A very quick search led me to a nonprofit called Ear Community. They listed Swissflex and Lafont as helpful accessories for those with microtia. (Ear Community)

Thanks, I think the biggest problem we are running into is what is covered by our insurance. I don't mind footing the extra money, if it will be a better fit.
