I am a Paramedic with a BS degree in Allied Health. My end goal is to be a CRNA but am not sure the best path to take. Should I go the cheap route and do the Paramedic to RN program at a community college and try to get into a CRNA program with just those credentials (after ICU/CCU experience of course). Or should I spend the extra money doing the 2nd Degree Accelerated BSN program? I'm just stuck going back and forth. I already have debt from my first bachelors degree so I want to make the most cost-effective choice.

CRNA is a master's degree program, so you will need a BSN plus 2-5 yrs Adult ICU experience. ABSN would be quicker than going ASN to RN-BSN route.

Welcome aboard.

You'll find two Allnurses sections dedicated to the CRNA/student CRNA. Look under "Specialties" for the former, and "students" for the latter. There should be lots of info there to help you make a better informed decision.

ABSN will pay for itself in time saved because you will make CRNA pay sooner.
