Nurses General Nursing

Published

My sister has been in the hospital for 2 days on an IV of NS and her BUN and creatinine keeps rising. BUN 40 Creat 3.3 They are sending her home to do Labs in the morning and A Kidney scan SOMETIME this week.Is this normal?

Sending her home??? Don't let them send her home!!!!!! It sounds like she is in Renal Failure

That is what I am thinking I am just a LPN and I am not well versed on Renal issues but this is confusing me

Well since we are not to give medical advice due to TOS, it is hard to say anything specific.

And the info you give really does not give any clue why your loved one is in the hospital in the first place.

I would strongly suggest to talk to her Doctors, and if not satisfied with the answer, then get a second opinion from a different MD.

She went in for abdomanal and flank pain with nausea. They did find that her gull bladder was full of "sludg" and will will need to come out at some point but the fact that the labs keep rising is what has me worried. And those are the only labs elavated.

TALK WITH THE DOCS, sounds like something is missing.

I hope she gets better soon.
