offer letter

Hello!!

I have a few questions regarding a job position i was offered:

So last week i was contacted by a recruiter who advised me that an offer letter will be sent to me, i contacted her Thursday because i hadn't heard from anyone or received anything to which she responded that my offer letter was ready and asked for my SSN and birthday( she also said I've being hired for the position) , she also gave me the start date, benefits and how i will go through a background check after signing the letter that would be e-mailed to me, but i haven't received any email yet . Should i be worried about this?

Did you get a company name ? Check with the company and google the recruiting company . Do some of that leg work

All her info looks legit, i searched her name on google and it says she works for tenet health, that is the name of the company that runs the hospital and she works for that specific hospital i applied for.

Did you check your junk/spam folder?

Call the facility directly and ask for the recruitment office. Verify that the recruiter you spoke to is an actual employee.

If the person is an actual employee - yay! Check your inbox and check your spam folder.

If the person is not an actual employee - oh, crap. You just handed them enough details to steal your identity.

Thanks ! i did check she is employed by the hospital in human resources. Just havent receive the email.

Specializes in Hospice.

I wouldn't worry :) I just got hired for a new RN job, and it took just a little over a week from the date the recruiter told me I was hired for the offer letter to get to me. If it's a big company, they are probably sending out multiple letters every week.

It took almost two weeks for human resources to call me after the recruiter told me I had the job. He told me it would be a week. One day after the week was up I called and asked him if there was any problem because I had not heard from human resources. He said he would check into it and that I should be hearing soon. Turns out they were behind because someone was on vacation.

Thank you to all of you!! i was freaking out lol but the good news is that HR called me Yesterday and i am signing the offer letter in person next Monday and they're gonna go over more details of the L&D position i applied for :p

TXRN roxie .....to help educate, could you mention vaguely what info was in your offer letter and then what info they discussed with you in person? Was there info you wished was typed into your offer letter before signing it?

**I know it's been years since this post, but why not :)
