I am confused about the difference between a wellness nursing diagnosis and a health promotion nursing diagnosis. I researched them and they seem the same to me. help please!

Health Promotion Diagnosis: Related to the PREPAREDNESS of the client to implement behaviors to improve their health condition (Readiness for Enhanced.....). So this basically states how ready you are to implement behaviors to improve your health.

Wellness Diagnosis: DESCRIBES THE human response to levels of wellness in an individual, family or community. This basically describes the level you're at and what step is next for you. Also looks like, Readiness for Enhanced...

It's HOW READY vs CURRENT LEVEL AND NEXT STEP

Good answer, Online.

However, melly asked that question over 2 1/2 years ago and hasn't visited AN.com for nearly two years.

I wonder if melly ever found out the difference or is now a practising Nurse continuing to confuse Wellness and Promotiuon nursing Dx.

Perhaps we'll never know...

*sigh*

Well, I have a test tomorrow and it really cleared it up for me, so thanks!!
