Nursing at Wayne State University

Nurses General Nursing

I decided to become a nurse because it is so intersting.:nurse: I applied to HFCC but their waiting list is two years. I dont want to wait that long so I decided to do the 3-year bachelore program for nursing at Wayne State University. The classes I am takin at HFCC right now are BIO 233: Anatomy and Physiology I, Psycology 131, ENG 132, and pharmacology. These classes were recommended by HFCC for me to take in order for me to be on their waiting list. But when I went to WSU, I spoke to a couenslor and she told me if i take all my PRE REQS at HFCC and tranfer to WSU, there is a 0% chance of me being accepted. I called the nursing office at WSU and she told me that was false but they only accept 48 students. They also told me they prefer their students before us. I am wondering what I should do right now. Should I take half of my prereqs at HFCC and the other half at WSU? Also, I heard that WSU is really hard. Which classes would you guys recommned for me to take at HFCC AND WSU.:D I will glady appreciate your help. Thank You.

how about transferring to wayne state unversity and take the pre-requisites and other general requirements before you start nursing school. also i know students can take pathopysiology class before they are accepted into nursing school so you can take that class while waiting to get accepted. i think you need to take nutrition class before you graduate. i dont know about pharmacology class whether or not you can take it earlier.

Thank you for answering me but thats what I am doing, I am takin my pre-reqs before enetering the program.

WSU told me i need to take BIO 152, BIO 135 OR 251, 233 AND 234, CHEM 131, CHEM 132, PSY 131, PSY 253, AND SOC 131.The ones in BOLD are the classes I took and already taking. I am planning to take PSY 252 AT HFCC and the BIO classes, but CHEM i want to take at WSU. is it hard there? Thanx:wink2:

what i'm trying to say is since wsu is accepting wsu students first, then they are accepting applications from students from other colleges , so if you transfer to wsu and take rest of your pre-requsitite classes ( psy 253, chem 131 etc) then you will be considering to be internal applicants and you will be considered first before trasfer student from other colleges. i took couple of classes from wsu and they are not hard at all. as long as you read books you shouldnt have problems with getting a's. did you ask them if this school have waiting list? i heard its competitive to get into this nursing school and you probably have to get almost all a's in pre-req classes. i also think its good idea not just apply to wsu but to apply to as many nursing schools as you can so you have more chance of getting in.

Thank you so much I apprcaite it. I willl try to take classes at WSU. I Wanted to take a CHEM 131 BUT I dnt want to fail it! lol cuz WSU is kind of tough. But thank you so much for ur help. Also, they do not have waiting list. they told me that it is competitive. Are you a nurse?
