It tends to take on a more aggressive and territorial feel, but it's here. Some of the women around here (not ME, of course ) who have had their work load increased significantly with the "Why didn't you copy me in on this? You copied him in! I need to know these things! I don't care what he told you, he doesn't know what's going on/it isn't his budget/it's MY department!" yadda yadda, have been heard to wonder aloud why they don't just whip 'em out, measure 'em, and be done with it.

Luckily, our unit is small and we get along and help one another. The only thing I can say is don't get suck into the vortex of treachery. Be kind and do your work. You will find that may not be enough but at least you wont be the center of everyone's conversation. I have a life outside my job so I become oblivious to pety antics at work.
