What are your facility's policies regarding nurses wearing nail polish or having fake nails?

I'm not in a hospital or LTC setting, but in my physician's office they're banned. We're part of a large healthcare group that does have several hospitals in it, so all clinical care staff are banned from wearing polish, acrylics, gel, or natural (if the length is longer than fingertip).

Absolutely no artificial nails. No type of polish that require curing. Nail polish must be a neutral color (clear or close to natural nail color) and must be removed if chipped or greater than 4 days old.

Big no-nos.

Our policy is pretty much the same as what Rose Queen said. Very few of my co-workers wear nail polish, and if they do it's neutral colored. I gave up, because it's not worth the headache and hassle...I just get pretty pedicures now :)
