My aunt is a 92yo working nurse and would like to nominate her for nurse of the year

My Great Aunt has been a nurse since she was in her twenties and now she is 92 years old. She is still working as an Rn at a nursing facility, full time and still does double shifts. She takes care of people who are by far younger than her. I am looking for a way this woman can get recognized for all she has done for so many people, for so many years. My family and i agree that she will never stop working, she loves what she does and will never quit. Please can someone help me, I would love for her to have the recognition she deserves. Thank you...

Wow! I am so impressed! And to think I'm in my 20s and wish I could retire sometimes! The place she works for should be recognizing her too.

Please make sure she gets recognized. I would even write the White House!! They send congratulatory messages to people who have 50th wedding anniversaries and hallmark birthdays. What about your Congressman? Your state nurses' association, if any?

Tell her from me that I am impressed and inspired.

I can't read all the replies, but I saw some great links in the first one on ways to recognize her, so I just want to say.....WOW!!!!! I am truly, truly amazed!!! I really wish I could meet and talk to your Aunt!!! Just.....WOW!!!!! :smug:

Guess this blows my desire to retire asap outta the water, huh? She NEVER wants to stop working as a nurse?? Remarkable.

WOW!!! And I complain about having to work 40 hours a week :bag: This woman needs some major KUDOS from as many places she can get them from!! Please tell her she is an inspiration to many of us! AMAZING!!!!

This is awesome!! The local or regional paper, the local/regional news would be also where I would look. Centers for Elder Affairs and/or Councils on aging have awards as well.
