Military LPN?

Hello Everyone!

Have anyone become an LPN through challenging the board with your military experience? Im interested in this option, and would like to know if any of you have had success or know anyone who has done the. Any and all info would be very helpful.

There is a member who has posted about this before. Believe that member is PMFB-RN, but I may be mistaken. Do a search on this screen name to find the thread where he talks about what he did. You can also look at the links on the CA BVNPT website. There is an entire section posted there about the process for using this route to get the LVN license in CA.

The California BVNPT has a pathway for former military medics to permit them to challenge the board and obtain licensure as a licensed vocational nurse (LVN).

I've worked with several LPNs in Michigan who were medics in the military and challenged the NCLEXPN. If you can do it, I say go for it.

Just remember that there may be some states who will not endorse a license obtained this way.
