I'm an RN student finishing with Regents. Have you tried the EPN (Electronic Peer Network) to access other LPN/LVN to RN Regents students? Feel free to contact me with any questions. I will be graduating in about three months..... after the dreaded cpne. ~Holly [email protected]

Hey. I graduated from Regents with an ASN degree in Dec 98. It took me 15 months to go from LPN to RN. I worked in an office in family practice/urgent care for 13 years, started to get burned-out so I started the ADN program, after seeing an aquaintance successfully complete it. Now Im a staff RN at hosp., and am really enjoying the career change, especially the extra money.
I took 2 courses every 2 months, did all my own research using the Regents free study guides , passed the clinical and finally graduated. I did this while working full time, and Im married with 3 children. I feel Regents offers a wonderful program, but requires the ability to work independently and have much dedication and determination.
Thankfully my employer at the time offered $1000 per year on education, it would have took me longer had I paid for it all myself even though I feel the program is very affordable. I wish you luck and feel free to E-mail me with ???.

I did the Regents, finished in 1996. It was do-able, but nerve wracking. Take advantage of all the information they put out for you, clinically. They people in my group who failed the clinical were people who didn't follow directions or people unfamiliar with what was expected. Good luck! Barb D

Hi all,
Out of curiosity, how much experience as an LPN did you have before beginning the Regents program. I've looked into it, but I am a little nervous about the amount of clinical experience needed.

I am currently in the process of filling aout financial aid and application forms for Excelsior College (aka Regents). I plan to start the LPN to RN courses ASAP from my home, where I am currently a stay-at-home mom keeping other kids, also, in a Family Home Child Care. I, also, would be glad to hear from anyone who has comments on the program, how long it took to complete the transition, how difficult it was, how hard it is to pass the CPNE and exactly what that was like, etc.
