LTC vs Home health

I have been working in home health for 2 years but I have been looking for a new jobs for months now. I see many Pts in a local ALF and have been offered a job there. I would be paid $24/hr work 5 days a week. It would be a pay cut but less stress and would not be traveling. Not sure how to choose.

Why do you think it would be less stress? What type of home health do you currently do?

I have worked in both settings. In no way would I say that being responsible for 80 patients is less stressful than being responsible for one.

I have 22 Pts I see 6-8 Pts 5-7 days a week. I know there is no perfect job and I am sure there is stress at the LTC but I would have a life. No hours of homework no calls late at night. And not driving 80miles a day.

So you have to see them each 4 times a week, is that right (sorry, I'm taking Topomax)? What kind of home health is that? Not case management, I take it?

No I see Pts usually 2-3 times a week. I sometimes have daily wound care Pts to. I also do case management for my Pts. Right now my census is down to 20 so I see 6-7 a day. The LTC I am looking at is mostly independent residents and mostly med management and paperwork.
