Can someone please tell me what phone number to call the state with a complaint in Texas? Also, please explain what to expect and when to expect it. Thank you.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but below is a link from the Texas Board of Nursing web site. It includes information on how to file a complaint regarding nursing practice. Hope it helps.

If this is a LTC facility it will be regulated by Dept of Aging and Disabilities Services. DADS for short. You can locate the appropriate number to call to register a complaint about the facility on the website: http://www.dads.state.tx.us

i didn't answer the second part of your posting....what to expect and when, etc. usually you will get a recorded message that has numerous prompts to talk you through the reporting a complaint or incident. i would suggest having as much information to hand, ready to read as possible. such things as facility name, address, patient name (if applicable) dates, times.....actually all the kind of information you would need to fill out an incident report.

as to when to expect a response that varies depending on what the complaint is, the apparent seriousness of the issue and, honestly how many investigators might be free to do a site visit in your area. i have experienced the state being on our doorstep in as little as 36 hours all the way to 2 months later.

in any case you can report [color=#313063]anonymously if you desire. good luck and do what you have to do without feeling guilty.
