hello!

what are Lpn's getting PAID? Thank you

:confused::confused:

Hi lucija,

That is a very hard questions, and it can vary greatly between states, and places of employment. The pay is as low as $9/hr to $19-23/hr. working on staff at hospital, doctor's office or nursing home, and up to $30/hr working travel or agency. It really depends on where you work...and how much you negotiate for yourself..:).

I hope this helps a little..

here in VA most hospitals offer 14/hr for LPN

Here in Canada, british columbia, I get $22.65 p/hour. Works out to about $2.23p/hour american.:D

Specializes in MDS Coordinator, CWS.

I am an MDS Coordinator in Florida. I am salaried at 23.00 per hour with amazing benefits. The floor staff where I work start at 18.00/hr, same benefits. I am amazed at some of the salaries I have seen.

You've got to be kidding! You need to move to America, leesonlpn and make yourself some real dough! And we complain! Geesh! What an insult to nurses...:( I wouldn't work for anyone for $2.23 per hour here in America! How do you put up with that nonsense?

Question: What is a MDS Coordinator? You can send me a PM if you want to let me know if you don't want to post it here, or post it here if you want.... Thanks! :)

Specializes in Med-Surg Nursing.

An MDS coordinator is a nurse who fills out the MDS's on each resident of a nursing home. MDS stands for Minimum Data Set. It is something that is requires by Medicare to be filled out on all nursing home residents so that the Nursing home gets reimbursed properly for the care that they are providing to that resident. It has to be filled out after 14 days on new admissions to the Nursing Home and yearly on all other residents. Is that right bandaidexpert? If not please correct me.

Thanks,

Kelly:nurse:

Cheerfuldoer, I think Leesonlpn was kidding. The Canadian dollar is currently worth just a little bit less than the US dollar. I believe the exchange rate is $1.50 Canadian dollars for $1 US dollar. That means Leesonlpn makes approximately $15 USD per hour, which I would call a fair wage.

On the other hand, as an endorsed enrolled nurse in Aus, I get $16.56 an hour which, at the current rate of exch is about $8 American, and they let me hand out drugs!!! ;) One day the powers that be will come to me looking for pain relief.....

lol! :chuckle

I hope you're kidding cheefruldoer!! She was greatly exaggerating due to the high exchange rate we face. It's actually between $14-15 US/hr.

If you were kidding I apologize for being so naive!
