Hello,
Is it normal practice to advise a patient to flush their system with fluids after CT scan iv contrast administration?

Yes, when contrast is given flushing with fluids afterwards recommended to help your kidneys remove the contrast material from your body. Those breastfeeding are instructed to wait for 48 hours after receiving the CT contrast injection before breastfeeding again. Patients may wish to pump breast milk prior to the CT exam and store it for use during this period.
