When I was in college (wasnt working), I had my MD fill out a LONG application for needymeds.org (I think that was the web address). I was able to get my meds for free thru the manufacturers. Maybe that could be an option for her. Why arent her children on medicaid or some type of govt medical assistance program? Where I live, children of needy families can get all their meds for free.

I would have just explained to her I couldn't do that and then I would have definitely asked the MSW at work for some resources to help her, and would present them to her.. some people just don't know where to go or how to get help, and hey your a nurse so she took a chance approaching you

Lately I get alot of I don't have insurance, so I need to know if this is serious enough that I need to go to the ED. >_
I would hate to say no its not serious and then have it be really really serious.
I get asked for meds all the time too. People expect me to carry around medications with me all the time.
