Isocyanate asthma?

  1. My Dh is an autobody tech/collision repairman who paints cars daily. He has mentioned to me that one of his concerns is isocyanate poisoning. It's a chemical released from the paint and even though he FAITHFULLY wears a respirator when working, sometimes level can build up. I researched as much as I could online and came up with basically: there is no definitive blood/urine etc test, but most often it can lead to 'occupational asthma'. I was wondering if anyone here has family or friends with this. His doc is going to send him for a baseline chest xray, and PFT's. (I should mention the reason we went to PMD was lasting cold/allergy symptoms>1 month, which happens to him frequently)
