It is possible, but may require a willingness to move around the country. If it's been two years, have you considered continuing your education? Something like completing your BSN, or taking a nurse legal consultant course can revive your career, and make your resume stand out! Good luck!

Yes, as the above person noted that completing your RN (Adn or Bsn) may be advantageous to your getting work, however times are tough and even RNs are having difficulty finding work, even if they have experience on their resume. Have you considered working at a clinic part time, volunteering at a hospital, asking a passed fellow LVN graduate if they could help you find work at their place of work?

I am thinking of to become an rn. but community college required 1 year of acute lvn experience as well. plus I dont wanna jump into taking an RN because i know its also hard to find a job. plus i dont think my parents will argree to it the fact that they feel like i wasted times/ financial to becoming an lvn and nothing happend to it...arghh...i feel soo hopeless...is there any place that is willing to teach you or you can volunteer as an LVN to gained experience. because a lot of volunteer hospital doesnt let you pratice lvn.

Forever hopeful--best of luck to you, it is very difficult for new grads, and not so new, to get that first job today. That said, and I hope you don't take offense at this, have you had someone check your resume for spelling and grammatical errors? I say this only because your post has problems in those areas; could your resume be holding you back? Just a thought.

What area are you in? Have you tried maybe applying for a PRN or part time position at a LTC, Assisted Living, or Clinic work? Once you have your foot in the door, if a position opens up your much more likely to be considered for a full time position.

I wish you the best of luck, it makes me sad to see so many that are struggling for jobs.

i agree with the above poster. you should have someone look at your resume to correct any issues. also, when you apply for a position try calling the nurse manager of that unit to speak with him/her directly about the possibility of an interview (that is how i got my first job after many months searching). i heard that it helps to go directly to the facility you wish to gain employment and personally hand the hiring manager your resume and cover letter.

good luck and keep us posted!

Are you in the Phillipines? No hospital in North America has volunteer nurse positions

go for your RN ......I am in the Los Angeles area and it is nearly impossible to get a LVN job....If there are job postings they want experience and some even want 3-5 years exp as an LVN with some of that exp being within the last year.....I got lucky because of a friend...or else i would still be looking also

Hospitals do not, but clinics do. I have a friend who works as a volunteer LPN at the County Clinic. She graduated nursing school with me and had a very difficult time landing an LPN job, so to keep her skills fresh and pump up her resume, she took the volunteer position once a week. And three months later, she has finally landed a job at a LTC facility. :)

She volunteered at DuPage County Clinic and she was hired at a long term care facility later on, somewhere north of Arlington Heights.
