interview presentation

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi everyone, I need to do a presentation on what I would see as my responsibility in contributing to end of life care education and training as a palliative care nurse. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

This reminds me of the teenager who complained to Dear Abby saying her mother is always on her butt to do her homework, pick up her room, and set the table. What should she do? Comes the answer: Do your homework, pick up your room, and set the table.

So you have to write something about your responsibility as a palliative care nurse in contributing to end of life education and training? What do you think those responsibilities are in your job? Why?

I was asking for advice.. if your not going to help why say anything? It's for a new job so I was wondering if there's any specialist nurses here who work in that field. I have looked at key documents and initiatives. I just wanted to know if there's something I have missed.

If my not going to help?

In that case, how about telling us what you think, and we might have some ideas? The way you asked originally, it looked like you had no idea at all how to think about this assignment, and you know how we hate doing other people's homework! :) I'm hoping you read up on palliative care a bit before you applied for the job, so you should have some ideas from that.

How were we to have known any of that? If you have not given any indication of what you might already have a grasp on, I'm not sure we have any way of knowing what you might have missed.

Nice. Nice way to make friends on a new forum that you joined for help.

I've never had to do a presentation for a new job. Now, in school I was asked to write an essay about the role of a nurse in a chosen speciality, but I haven't heard of anything like that as a work requirement. Interesting.

Regardless if it's a work assignment or homework, we always encourage posters to share their thoughts and ideas before asking for opinions, clarification, additional info, etc. Otherwise, it just comes across as though you're asking others to do your homework for you. If you do that, we will be more than happy to help. You can also visit the palliative care/hospice nursing forum and read some threads that may give you more ideas.
