Nurses General Nursing

Published

I have wanted to go on a mission trip to India for a very long time.

Now that I fianaly graduated (takeing boards this summer). I started to look for organizations that would take me.

I found a great one and they invited me to come. while I was reading threw the info they sent me I relized that all of their nurses are women.

I am a man so I sent an email back asking if a male nurse would be able to work in their hospital.

Its a Danish mission hospital and is jointly run by the danish mission and local indians. The population s 90 % hindu and 10 % christian, seik (sp), muslem.

anyway its been a few days and no answer -( I'm thinking they arent going to respond but thye might not check their email that offten (it costs them per minute).

Does anyone know if it is culturaly aceptable for a man to be a nurse in india? or is it like the middle east where men are doctors and women are nurses?

Does anyone know if an RN license would allow me to practice in India? or if it could be tranfered into an INdian license?

any links or info would be great thanks =)
