I'm new to my job... been there for about a month. I have a year of nursing under my belt.
I'm having a hard time adjusting to the new culture at work just getting used to of new equipments, new doctors, new approach, new everything.
Well it's been a month and my orientation was extended to 2 weeks but yet, the nurses who are orienting me do not feel comfortable for me to be on my own yet. In addition, I'm still very slow in everything I do. I was out of a job for about 7 months before landing this current one. I've forgetten some things and this was obviously while I was on the floor.
So today, Friday, my director wanted to talk to me... bascially she asked me what they can do to help me... She went on saying, I have a lot of potentional but worth the investment but she also has new travelors coming in as well as new grads to train...etc.
Anyways, she said she would talk to me again on Monday.
After the discussion, I went back onto the unit to copy my schedule since I remember tha morning they pencil me until next week Friday....but I realized they had erased me all next week but left me on for Saturday Sunday and Monday. Are they firing me or letting me go because I'm not a good fit? I'm very suspicious... Makes me so sad I don't know what to do if I lose my job. Maybe they are letting me work this weekend to prove myself until the big talk on Monday??? errrr....
