How to Know if I should continue?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi all - So I graduated in August with my BSN, I had my ASN and practiced as a new 21-year old nurse in a LTC facility, but I hated passing meds. So I began a new job in a pediatric LTC with resp. children, including trachs and ventilators. There was an incident, in which I had panicked, and was unsure what to do.

Due to this I was terminated from my second job, and the management had told me that I should consider another field, beside nursing. I have no idea if I should stay with nursing, try to find a teaching hospital and see if they will prepare me, or if this field really isn't for me and I should get out all together.

On top of that, who will hire a new nurse that has already been terminated?

Any suggestions / ideas / comments? Greatly appreciated!

How long was your training at the LTC and how long were you employed there?
