how long should I wait before I call

I have a question that hopefully somebody could help me with, I was offered a position last Monday for a new grad ER position. The nurse manager said that she was going to forward my paperwork to HR, and somebody should be contacting me next week, today is the beginning of next week. How long should I wait before I make a call to HR to follow up on my paperwork?

Speaking as a student, not a nurse: This isn't dating... I think showing a very prompt business attitude would be a positive.

I would wait until Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. They may have just gotten your paperwork from the nurse manager and will call tomorrow morning. Good luck!

I would wait several days, probably until Thursday. The HR department has to check with the state to check your license and has to check all your references. That will probably take several days. You might want to check back on Thursday just to touch base and show your continued interest.

If it were me I would call Wednesday afternoon if I hadn't heard anything - gratz :)

Give them a few more days. It took HR 1.5 weeks to contact me.

Calling the HR department in order to "verify" that they have "received all the paperwork that you may need" and to offer to "help" with any other information that they may require, would be a good way to approach them early on Wednesday morning, because by afternoon office people in that department are not open to "probing":angryfire.

Good Luck...what a great oppurtunity!:yeah:

Wednesday morning or afternoon is when I'd call too.

Yes, there could have been delays at HR/paperwork end...

... but it does you no harm to call and check it out. After all, you were told "a week" at your interview.

Call and see if they've received all they need from your end and that you're following up just to make sure...

cheers,
