High blood pressure and Employment

Hello,

I am a prospective nursing school student and just have a simple question.

I often have elevated blood pressure when being assessed for a physical generally in the 140/90 sort of range, when taken outside of clinical settings it is usually a bit better, around 130/80. I am otherwise in great shape and quite physically fit. Could elevated blood pressure readings like this cause potential employment problems? Would a prospective employer not hire you based on this alone?

Thank you!

It would be unlikely to cause you to lose out on a job. In fact, I do not remember my pre-employment screening ever include a BP reading.
