Help with aftercare of a Prostatectomy

Please help... My boyfriend just had a a Robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy 5 days ago. His catheter is really irritating him : he has the urge to pee so strong that it hurts ... Making him feel like he has to hold back his urine and. Squeeze. He has slight bloody urine coming out the sides of his member but it's not a lot and there is tissue looking pieces here and there in the bag. He has no fever. He believes the stitch came out that's connecting the bladder to the uritha. Could this be his symptoms?
