HELP! job application question for you nurses!!

You might want to start applying in March 2009 so you'll have the best shot at getting into hospital new grad programs that start in June.

You can start by doing some research now. Find out what hospitals are in Columbus (a simple Google search should suffice), then go to their websites and find out all you can about what new grad programs they offer, when they start (for example, some specialties only do a program once or twice a year), and what the application process is. Some will require you to make an online profile, complete with resume and/or job history, and references. These are all things you can start doing now, just to get an idea of what the different hospitals offer, and keep browsing their list of job openings often to see what they even have available.

I relocated after school and didn't have a problem finding a job, but I did some research and ended up getting a job at the place I really wanted. I found that some of the hospitals didn't post new positions often and that I had to apply to old postings. You will find your own way of doing things. Oh and I agree with the other poster, you can probably wait until Feb. or March to start applying.

sounds like good advise...get some letters from instructors of classes you have completed...if you have an area that you want to specilize in put that in the application also, even if they don't have an opening in that field you will be on record if a job comes up after you are hired
