Help! Here in Texas

Nurses General Nursing

I am new to Dallas TX. I moved here from Kansas a month ago. I just received my temporary RN license. I need some help with what I should request to be paid in Texas. I have been a LVN in Kansas for 9 years. I just graduated from RN school in May of 2009. I have worked with geriatric patients in a nursing home environment for the last 10 years. I so desperately desire a job in a hospital. Can someone place tell me the pay scale I should request?

If you're applying for a position in a hospital, the pay scale will already exist and it alone will determine your offer. You can request a copy of the RN pay range from the facility with which you are interviewing.

can you atleast give me an average pay amt for a rn with my experience. On applications they ask expected salary.

A new RN in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will get paid between $21 and $25 hourly base rate, not including differentials. Many hospitals will consider you a new grad and, therefore, won't grant you anymore money for your LPN/LVN experience. The hospitals that do grant extra money for LVN experience will usually give you 1 year of RN experience for every 2 years of LVN experience that you have.

 thanks commuter, your post sumed it up.
