Help, DH in ER!

At about 5AM this morning DH started having left flank pain. He had diarrhea the night before right after dinner and kept feeling like he had to go again. Also kept feeling like he had to pee also had some nausea but no vomiting. The pain eased off for awhile, but then came back even worse. So, I was like OK, lets head to the ER to get you some relief as he was rating pain 9/10.

I suspected kidney stones as he had some 6 years ago and was pointing to the right area. So, his urine came back fine, but did have a little blood in it. Not visible by eye at all. Labs were also normal. CT scan came back clean, so they figured that he had a stone, but had passed it before the scan. He got some prescriptions and we were on our way with diagnosis of renal colic and possible kidney stone. He came home and slept off the IV narcotics he got and was doing fine.

Now he's hurting again just as bad as before, if not worse. He's taken percocet and phenergan. Just vomited like three times. I'm just wondering what it could be if he's not passing a stone, since there were none for him to pass on the CT. I know the colic can be sore, but doesn't usually cause 10/10 pain even with pain meds pain does it??? It's been 2 hours since he took the percocet.

Grrrr, I don't want to go back to the ER today.

Sorry to hear about your husband. Can't really tell ya what to do because we're not suppose to give medical advice here but I hope he feels better soon.

It's so frustrating when you KNOW either yourself or a loved one is really sick, but they you get the "we can't find anything wrong with you from the ED". Soooo frustrating. Hang in there, and persist with trying to get him help until they figure it out. My thoughts are with you.
