As a graduate student, will we still be treated as student nurses on the floor or will we be treated as an RN?

When you pass the NCLEX you will be called a RN. You should be treated with respect regardless of your standing as a student or a nurse. It is important to remember your roles as you transition through them.

Do not worry...it will work out. Good luck.

Respect is earned, not given.;) And to add another cliche: if you act the part, you will be treated accordingly. I was in school with quite a few years of direct care, with top-notch mentors. I approached each preceptor the same way- listen resepctfully (even if you know "it"), respond appropriately, and perform the task proficiently. If it is commented on, then make a minor statement about your prior education and/or training.

OTOH, some people just don't like students. We had one nurse, while in clinicals, who would respond to any request to perform any function (from Depends changes to FSBS) with, "Ummmm, no."
