Foley Bag hooks on Stryker S3 beds

Just got new Stryker S3 beds and am having trouble figuring out which foley hooks to use if you do NOT want to incorporate the foley bag and contents into the patient weight. There are 2 places on each side to hang the foley bags on, one near the middle and one closer to the foot. I have a Quick Guide but it is not clear (it says the 'patient weight reading on the scale system will not be affected when the isolated Foley bag hooks are used'. But which hooks are the 'isolated' hooks? Thought I could look it up at stryker.com, but have to be registered to get to the information.

I brought that up not to correct you, but to ask if there may be hooks that you haven't seen??

This is a good question. Probably need to empty it. too.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, there are a total of 4 hook, 2 on each side. But some of the hooks include the weight of the foley bag if it is hanging from that hook and the other two do NOT include the weight of the foley bag. Can't figure out which one does what...

I use Stryker beds, I don't know if they are 'S3'. On the ones we use, the bar closest to the foot of the bed is included in a bed weight, but the hooks further from the foot are mounted to the base, not the mattress frame, and are not included in a bed weight. Even if yours is different, you should be able to tell by looking at what it is mounted to, you should be able to see where the solid base structure and the upper structure join.

does this really warrant such trouble> just empty it - they cannot be adding more than ~2 pounds when full anyway lol
